Heading all the way to Golden Gate Park for Outside Lands this weekend? Good news: you’ll be able to eat like you never left the Lower Haight.
In between checking out your favorite bands and enjoying the summer weather (bring layers), be sure to stop by and fill up on the many delicious offerings from these four local hotspots:
It’s the BBQ joint’s first year at the festival, but they’re starting things off strong — smoking, slicing and chopping up their signature Slow Smoked Texas Brisket, Memphis Sweet Smoked Pork, and Santa Maria Tri-Tip on-site. They’re looking forward to sharing their barbeque with friends and neighbors, old and new. So, come say hi — and mention Haighteration for a cool prize (and maybe even a big, tasty brisket sandwich)!
Got a hankering for some fresh Mexican food? Little Chihuahua’s got you covered, serving up chicken and steak fajita burritos, tostado salads, and the signature vegetarian favorite, fried plantain and black bean burritos. Refreshing, house-made watermelon and mint ague frescos are also on the menu.
Your favorite neighborhood scoop shop is excited to be back at the festival, where they hope to introduce lots of new people to their ice cream. Be on the lookout for a new item — ice cream sandwiches made with Miette cookies. They’re only making 500, so act quick. Of course, they’ll also be dishing out the good stuff by the scoop, including the iconic Lemon Cookie, Strawberry Je Ne Sais Quoi, Cookies & Cream, Mocha Difference and vegan Raspberry Sorbet.
The Haight street mainstay and star-studded destination will be grilling up their sausages at the festival again this year. It’ll be hard to resist their lineup of beer sausage, chicken cherry sausage (topped with cherries), vegan apple sage sausage and German and vegetarian-friendly potato salad.
What a line-up! With so much to enjoy, we’re pretty sure this is going to be the best Outside Lands yet.
